Scholarships
PAA has a variety of scholarships available
to incoming and resident students. Many
entrance scholarships are available to
students graduating from junior academies
across Western Canada. In addition, matching
and incentive scholarships are available for
worthy students.
PAA holds a Student Awards Chapel at the
end of the academic year. Awards and
scholarships are given to those who have
excelled in the areas of work and academics
during the year.

for University.
Statements
Tuition, mandatory fees, cafeteria and room
charges for the entire semester are charged at
the beginning of each semester. Student
statements will be mailed by the fifteenth of
each month. Students may pick up their copy at
the Student Finance Office.
Textbook Rental
Students are furnished with textbooks for
instruction in all classes. There are both new
and rental textbooks available.

Fees and Refunds
Diploma ExamsAlberta Learning is
charging $50.00 for each Diploma Exam written
by a foreign student to recover the
cost of providing the examinations.
Family Discounts
The family discount allows for a 5%
discount on tuition when two students from the
same family enroll at PAA or Canadian
University College.
Interest Charges
An interest charge of 1% per month will be
assessed on the unpaid balance at the end of
the academic year.

Employment
PAA will provide the opportunity for a
student to earn an average of $200 per month
during the school term if the student’s
schedule coincides with available jobs. If the
student wishes to participate in this work
program, the application for campus employment
included in the information package should
completed and returned to the Student
Employment Office. Once the student arrives on
campus, he/she should maintain constant
contact with the Employment Office until a job
is secured.
Refunds
If a student is absent from campus for
seven or more consecutive days because of
sickness, discipline, or other unavoidable
reasons, he/she may be allowed a refund with
respect to cafeteria charges. Application must
be made at the PAA Office within 30 days
following such an absence and verified by the
Residence Dean. Refunds are not allowed for
vacations or regular weekend leaves.
A student who withdraws from school or a
class during a given semester will receive the
following prorated refunds:
Tuition
End of 1st week 100%
1-2 weeks (less $25/course) 100%
3-5 weeks: 75%
6-8 weeks: 50%
9-13 weeks: 25%
After 13 weeks: 0%
Cafeteria and Room charges are prorated on
a daily basis as reported by the Residence
Dean.

Music Lessons
PAA offers music lessons in band and
orchestral instruments, piano, organ, and
voice. Fees appear on the statement of
account.
Please note that no refund on music charges
will be made after the 6th week of the
semester.
International Students Refunds. Because of
a quota system, international students are
accepted for the total academic year and must
maintain a minimum course load of 15 credits
per semester. An international student who
withdraws or is asked to withdraw, either
during the semester or at the end of the first
semester, will not be allowed a refund.
Withdraws
When a student withdraws from a class or
from school, the student must obtain a
withdrawal voucher from the PAA Office.
Tuition charges will be continued until the
voucher is completed by the student and
teachers involved. Refunds are prorated
according to the Refund Policy. Refunds are
not retroactive or allowed for ordinary
absences. Mandatory and Miscellaneous Fees. These
fees are nonrefundable after September 10
(first semester), and February 11 (second
semester). |
