Goals for Students:

The main goals of mathematics education are to prepare students to: Addison-Wesley Publishers Ltd.

At the completion of the program, students should have developed a positive attitude toward mathematics and have a base of knowledge and skills related to number patterns and relations, shape and space, and statistics and probability.

1st 6 Weeks: Measurement, Number Patterns in Tables, Relations and Functions

2nd 6 Weeks: Sampling, Line Segments

3rd 6 Weeks: Linear Functions, Trigonometry

Six Week Exam 25%

The previous six categories are weighted as 60% of the final grade.

The final exam is worth 40% of the final grade.

Since the Pure Math and Applied Math textbooks support the TI-83/84 series, Parkview Adventist Academy recommends the purchase of this model. For Grade 10 it is mandatory that each student have an approved graphing calculator. The calculator will be used right through to graduation.
